Minneapolis

The recent tragedies in Minneapolis were devastating, yet both were avoidable using standard police tactics. I am not talking about the actions of the ICE agents but about the failures of the Minneapolis Police department under the direction of Mayor Fry and the compliance of Gov. Tim Waltz. It is very apparent that the actions of the anti-ICE protestors are designed to elicit the types of responses that we have seen. The question that we must now ask is why the MPD are not there for crowd control.

ICE is there for a specific purpose, to detain and arrest illegal aliens. The political leadership is driving a narrative that ICE is attacking and arresting regular citizens. The size of the mobs that have confronted ICE are well in excess of what would normally be seen in situations like this. In normal situations when there is protest of this size and knowing the nature of the protestors and their extremely aggressive tactics, why are the police not separating the protestors from ICE agents? While the political elites of Minnesota may say they are not going to allow the police to support ICE operations, they are also not supporting the safety of their own citizens. What would you do or how would you feel if you were an ICE agent doing your job, surrounded by an angry and violent mob with no police support.

It is the job of the local police to provide for and protect public safety. I understand fight now why President Trump is trying to calm the situation down by saying he will begin to move some agents out but am not happy. The result will be murderers, rapist and child sex traffickers will see that have a free hand to continue what they are doing. Gov Waltz and Mayor Fry should be ashamed of themselves
