Why We Are At War With Iran

The Democrats in the Senate are once again attempting to impose a war powers act to stop the operation in Iran. They get on social media and demand an end to what they call a war of choice. They point out how much money is being spent and what it is costing the American citizens in daily cost of living. What they do not point out is that every administration for the past 47 years has called Iran a terrorist state and the cause of all the trouble in the Middle East. We have moved against Iran with economic sanctions which have proved ineffective. We stood by and watched as Iran armed and trained terrorist who then went on to kill millions including Americans. Lastly Iran decided they would build a nuclear bomb and develop intercontinental ballistic missiles to carry them. Several past administrations declared that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. President Obama attempted to negotiate and ended with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) also known as the Iran deal. This deal was intended to keep uranium enrichment limited to 3.67%. With little real enforcement capabilities this agreement was seen as very weak. Because of this Obama joined the agreement as an executive order rather than submit it to the Senate as a treaty. Since it was not a treaty President Trump could then cancel the agreement, which he did. Canceled or not the Iranians continued with their program both to build a bomb and develop long range missiles.

This brings us to the current decision point where Trump told Iran to end its program and hand over the enriched uranium, which they had proceeded to enrich to over 60% which is near weapons grade or the United States would take action. They did not and the U.S. did. While the facility was destroyed the uranium was not. It became apparent that the Iranians were attempting to retrieve the uranium and continue the program. This is when the United States along with Israel decided that they needed to send a stronger message to Iran. While attempting to negotiate it became apparent to the U.S. negotiators that Iran was not acting in good faith so a decapitation strike was ordered which took out political and military leadership.

There of course was hope that the Iranian people, who have shown hatred for the regime, would rise up. This hope was dashed in January when the Iranian forces slaughtered upwards of 40000 unarmed protestors in a 48-hour period. The only remaining hope is that some part of the Iranian military will join with the civilians or that gulf states such as Saudia Arabia and the UAE lend their forces to an on the ground attack.

So why did Trump get us involved once again in a war in the Middle East, As long as the current regime remains there will be no peace in the region, Isreal will be under constant attack and terror cells will continue to operate in Europe and the United States. The world must come to understand that the Islamic Republic will never negotiate in good faith and only when the civilized world can put on a unified face will the regime fall. This is most important for the Democrats to understand that as long as they play the political game of opposing Trump on everything the more support they give to the terrorist. Instead of listening to political ideologs we should be listening to the people in Iran as well as Iranian expats who are demonstrating around the world. While we hear the reports that the regional countries are asking for continued negotiations publicly we also see the reports that they are asking privately for the destruction of the regime. This is not a war of choice but one of necessity and possibly the last hope we have of ridding the world of an evil regime intent on a final battle to rid the world of its enemies and bring Islam to power around the world. What drives the Iranian regime is the Shia religion and the Twelver sect that makes up the government. They believe there needs to be a final battle, an end of days battle. We need to understand this in order to make the right decision. Most Iranians do not believe this but those in power do which makes it dangerous. Let your congressmen and senators know that for once we need to act as one country with one end in mind. If not we may one day wake up with a nuclear armed Iran.
